Safe storage & responsible use
Dosage, tolerance, set and setting — consume with intention and protect everyone around you.
Storage that preserves quality
Flower degrades when exposed to light, heat, oxygen, and humidity extremes. Keep it in airtight glass (UV-blocking is even better), at 15–21°C, with a humidity pack (Boveda 58% or 62%) inside the jar. Stored well, good flower keeps its terpene profile for 6+ months. Stored badly — in a plastic bag in a sunny drawer — it loses freshness in weeks.
Lock it up
If anyone under 21 lives in or visits your home, your cannabis lives in a locked box. Not a high shelf — locked. Edibles especially: they look like candy, they're potent per gram, and accidental pediatric ingestion is the single fastest-growing cannabis emergency room category in legal-market states. Treat them with the same respect you'd give a bottle of bourbon.
Dosing — the rule of low-and-slow
Inhaled: one small pull, wait 15 minutes, reassess. Edibles: 2.5–5 mg THC, wait two full hours, then redose only in 2.5 mg steps. Concentrates: rice-grain dab, period.
Tolerance to THC builds in days and resets in 2–4 weeks of abstinence. If a session no longer feels like much, the answer is almost never 'take more' — the answer is a tolerance break.
Set and setting
Set is your mindset; setting is your environment. A first edible session at a friend's quiet apartment with calming music and a movie queued up is a wildly different experience from the same dose at a loud party with strangers. New consumers in particular benefit from a familiar room, a trusted friend nearby, and zero obligations for the next 6 hours.
When not to consume
Don't combine with alcohol your first several times. Don't drive — impairment is real and lasts longer than people think. Don't consume if you have a personal or family history of psychosis without first talking to a doctor. Don't consume when pregnant or breastfeeding. And don't gift a high-dose edible to someone who has never had cannabis before — that's how bad memories happen.
Consume with intention
Every plant medicine that humans have built lasting relationships with — coffee, wine, tea, tobacco — works best with ritual and respect. Pick your strain on purpose. Notice how you feel. Take breaks. Cannabis rewards the curious and humbles the careless. Be the first kind of consumer.
